Remy Toledo Art Projects consists of a team of art professionals based in New York City promoting the work of a cosmopolitan array of artists interested in exploring alternative spaces. We are interested in challenging and experimental works, mostly in the fields of media technology, installation, performance. We serve as catalysts, enabling an exchange between artists, institutions and galleries.

We work in close relationship with partners in institutions promoting selected artists, serving as a cross-road between the different modalities of the art world, such as writers, curators, directors, art patrons.

We bring art exhibitions to unexpected spaces, always questioning the hierarchical structure of the traditional museum or gallery, introducing new models of exhibition suggesting a horizontally structured dynamic between institution and public.

One of our functions is organizing original art projects in which we apply our philosophic approach to exhibiting works. We promote a subversive approach to the exhibition of art questioning the conception of art as entertainment and commodity. An example of this is Art Miami 2008 in which we brought not for profit art institutions to the most commercial venue for art, “the artfair,” playing within the blurred space between art as commodity and art as the epitome of high-culture.
